My daughter was 5.8lbs, though born at 37 weeks. I was 6.8 and my husband was 7.4. A lot of babies born on my mom’s side of the family are at least 8 or 9lbs. What is average? I feel like babies are bigger and bigger these days.

She was born on January 19 weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces. 3 days later she weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Is this normal? Isn’t it too much weight for only 3 days?
